Located along the scenic Indian River near the village of Keene, Lang Pioneer Village Museum offers visitors a fascinating look at the early rural life and agricultural traditions of the Peterborough region.
The open-air museum features more than 30 restored historic buildings, including homes, barns, workshops, and a general store, many dating back to the 19th century. Visitors can explore these buildings while learning about the daily lives of early settlers who helped shape the farming communities of the region.
Throughout the season, costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional skills such as blacksmithing, weaving, woodworking, and other pioneer crafts. Agricultural exhibits and farm buildings highlight the tools and techniques early settlers used to farm the land and build rural communities.
Special events and educational programs throughout the year offer additional opportunities for visitors to experience pioneer traditions and the history of agriculture in Ontario.
