A Sweet Celebration of Maple Syrup Tradition
Each spring, the village of Elmvale in Simcoe County comes alive with the delicious aromas and festive atmosphere of the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival, one of Ontario’s best-known maple syrup celebrations.
Held annually on the last Saturday in April, the festival draws thousands of visitors who gather to celebrate one of Canada’s sweetest traditions — maple syrup. A highlight of the day is the famous all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts, where visitors enjoy stacks of pancakes served with locally produced maple syrup.
Throughout the village, visitors can explore a variety of activities including live entertainment, community displays, craft vendors, children’s activities, and horse-drawn wagon rides. Many visitors also take the opportunity to visit nearby maple sugar bushes to learn how sap from maple trees is transformed into syrup.
Organized by the Elmvale and District Lions Club, the festival has become a beloved spring tradition that brings together residents, volunteers, and visitors to celebrate agriculture, community, and Ontario’s maple syrup heritage.
