Celebrating Agriculture, Community, and the Future of Farming
Each fall, the Ancaster Fair welcomes visitors to one of Ontario’s longest-running agricultural celebrations. Taking place September 24–27, 2026, the fair continues a proud tradition that has been bringing farmers, families, and the community together since the mid-19th century.
The 2026 fair theme — “In Her Hands: Family, Farm and Future” — celebrates the important role women play in agriculture, from caring for families and managing farms to shaping the future of food production. The theme also reflects the United Nations’ designation of 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, recognizing the vital contributions women make to agriculture around the world.
Visitors to the fair can explore a wide variety of activities including livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, homecraft competitions, and family-friendly entertainment. Classic fair attractions such as the midway rides, demonstrations, and community events add to the lively atmosphere that makes the fair a highlight of the fall season.
For generations, the Ancaster Fair has celebrated the connection between agriculture, education, and community, continuing a tradition that reflects the rich farming heritage of the Hamilton area and rural Ontario.
