A Historic Huron County Community with Deep Agricultural Roots
Located in the heart of Huron County, the community of Clinton has long served as an important gathering place for the farms and rural communities that surround it. The town developed during the mid-19th century as settlers established farms across the fertile countryside of southwestern Ontario, and Clinton quickly grew into a service centre where farmers could trade goods, attend markets, and take part in community life.

During the Second World War, the town became home to RCAF Station Clinton, where Allied personnel were trained in radar technology as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. The station later continued as an important radar and communications training centre during the Cold War. Today, a large radar tower located in the downtown area stands as a reminder of this unique chapter in the community’s history.
